So as I said in the last post me and husband got married last year on leap day. We eloped so our friends and family really wanted us to throw a reception so we did. Of course we were trying to keep the cost down but still wanted it to look nice. Me being a crafter decided to make a few personalized pieces.
First are the center pieces for those we found an old tree down in the woods behind our fields and cut it into slices since all my décor was a darker stain I decided to stain all the wood slabs (I used gunstock by verathane) and we did the same with the table numbers.
For the cake table I made the box that the cake sits on using 1x3 pine boards cut them to size for my cake and stained the same as the wood slabs. I used my silhouette to cut out vinyl stencils and customized it for us. I loved how it turned out!! All the jars were old mason jars from my mother in law that I painted white chalk paint and sanded to distress. Our cutting tools I found on etsy.
Okay so let me talk about these mason jar cups, they were the pain in my a** but turned out so awesome so how can I complain now! So they really are super simple to make just time consuming to make over 100 of. So I ordered the mason jar cups online (don't remember the site) and then picked up ribbon from Michaels and just hot glue gunned away :) I made some of the flowers others I bought and added a tag for people to write their names and they were able to take them home at the end of the night.
While there was a ton more décor but here is the last one I'm going to talk about for the day :) I didn't want a traditional sign in book since were weren't doing anything traditional so I made a sign for everyone to write messages to us, so simple to make just 1x3 again and made to size. Stained again with gunstock. I bought paint markers for everyone to write with and then later sealed it and hung it in my living room. So that is the décor from the reception and one of my favorite wedding photos to add :) I said that the only thing I wanted if we eloped was to have wedding photos because I wanted to be able to have pictures to hang on the wall.
Until next time XOXO!
